Your Friend: The Home Energy Audit

Program Details

(Only BPI accredited companies contracted with NYSERDA can implement the HPwES prgram)

The first step is to have a Comprehensive Home Assessment (CHA) energy audit. This includes:
- Visual inspection of your home and data collection
- Blower door test to measure how much and where air is leaking from your home
- Air filtration evaluation
- Combustion appliance safety test (i.e. furnace, boiler, stove)
- Carbon monoxide detection test
After the CHA, the Green Star energy experts provide with a detailed energy report and a comprehensive home energy solutions proposal for recommended conservation measures.
Upon your acceptance of the energy proposal an application for your home is submitted to NYSERDA
When approved by NYSERDA Green Star will schedule the work
Upon completion your home will be restested for for air flow and combustion safety.
A completion report is submitted to NYSERDA and you will receive a 10% to 25% refund for all approved work.
Several finanacing options are available.

- New York Energy $mart^SM Loan offered through participating New York State Financial Institutions.
