Rate increase looming for the CT Home Energy Solutions program. Stimulus funding is nearing depletion, meaning the HES co-pay for owners of oil and propane heated homes will increase from $75 to $300. Green Star encourages homeowners who heat with oil or propane to book appointments now to avoid the $225 co-pay increase. Insulation upgrade rebates are also expected to be eliminated. Note there are no HES income restrictions, so book your appointment today!

Lower Energy Bills
Happier Occupants
Green Star Energy Solutions can help you lower your building's energy operating costs, reduce its carbon footprint and increase the health, safety and comfort of your occupants. We employ the "building as a system" approach to ensure that all parts are working most effectively together to benefit the whole.
Does your building have any of these problems?
"Build tight. Ventilate right."
Our primary focus is to properly air seal a building and make insulation improvements since these are the most effective solutions to the problems listed above.
For air to leak, there have to be holes and cracks from which air can escape and create air pressure differences. Air pressure differences result from wind, "stack effect" or the HVAC system. Stack effect occurs when a building pulls in air from the bottom and the warmer, inside air escapes out the top, sides and inside wall assemblies.
Controlling air leaks and improving insulation
First, the sources of the air leaks have to be found. Green Star uses a variety of diagnostic tools as part of an energy assessment to help identify the leaks. Then, Green Star's technicians repair and seal the leaks. We also recommend the proper levels of insulation and provide only the highest quality, environmentally-friendly materials available on the market.
Detailed conservation measures
Call or email us to schedule an appointment with one of our energy consultants to see how we can help you reduce your energy bills and help save the environment as well. We recommend detailed conservation measures which are customized to meet your needs. We also coordinate other areas of improvement such as HVAC evaluation, water heating efficiency, windows and duct sealing.
