Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI)
 Who is BPI?BPI works with contractors and technicians in the building performance industry to set strict standards of excellence through a series of certifications, accreditations and quality assurance programs. Consumers who choose to use a BPI accredited contractor, are assured that the work on their home will be done correctly and cost effectively. Only those contractors who have been specialty trained and have passed both written and field exams become accredited BPI contractors.
What is Building Science?
The Building Performance Industry is trained in Building Science to look at your home as a total system. Building Science is the study of how buildings perform from an efficiency, health, comfort, safety and environmental impact perspective.
High energy bills, drafts and rooms that are too hot or too cold are all common issues for homeowners. Additional problems like ice damming, humidity, mold, allergens or infestation can also be symptoms of an energy-obsolete home.
